We are pleased to announce that we have a new Treasurer! Fiona Cameron has taken on the post. We know she will do a great job and we are looking forward to working with her!

We still have vacancies for a vice chair (open to office bearers, and Trustees, which are open to everyone. If you are interested in becoming more involved, please contact Daniel Jones (Chair) or Morag Ritchie (Secretary) for more information.

The holidays have made things quiet but the groups have all now met and progress is being made. .The group dealing with transport have collected your responses and send their thanks to everyone who replied We are now processing returns to look at how we move forward on this priority.

The newsletter funds have been supported by an advertorial from SP Energy (see later information) and the subgroup has secured funding for its sustainability.. Remember that you do not need to be a Trustee or office bearer to serve on any of the sub groups. We would love to see more people get involved. Contact any of us if you are interested or need more information.

Don’t forget that the hall is available to rent for your celebrations and events. It is big enough to cater for a fair number depending on what you are planning but not too big so that you feel lost! You will find more information on this on the website, or you can contact Daniel Rowley (details in Contacts Section).

SP Energy are the company which run our local electricity and they are working on a new development – Clyde South Overhead Lines As a result they have set up a Community Benefit Fund and would like to know how the local community would like to see this used. There is a link on the advert for their survey on this. Please make a return so that you have your say so that the money can be used for what we see as priorities.

While each activity group held ther own festivities the biggest events were the Christmas Parties and Hogmanay. Both were great successes! Santa enjoyed the company of the children at the parties and said we should all be
proud of our lovely youngsters. We’re sure his generosity showed this on Christmas Day!

The Hogmanay party was also a great success as the New Year was brought in by family and friends. Maybe this will become an annual event!

The Abba tribute night in February sold out on the same day it was advertised! Too many Super Troupers and dancing queens!! There have been more enquiries than tickets since, so if you’ve got a ticket but ‘if you change your mind’ there are others who are ‘first in line’! Some ‘of us are crying, waiting for a call!’ And ‘feeling sorry for ourselves, feeling stupid feeling small’ for waiting too long to book. So please get back to us if you have a change of mind for whatever reason. Please contact Daniel Rowley if you can no longer attend. Otherwise have a super trouper evening!
