CEDAR Community Newsletter December 2025

Vacancies
Unfortunately, JP Gilmartin has stood down as Treasurer. We thank
him for all his efforts in the role and the managing of Crawford Village
Hall. He will be missed greatly!
The Treasurer position will be filled by a Trustee as per regulations and
we will keep you up to date with the progress made on this.
We still have vacancies for Trustees, which are open to everyone. If
you are interested in becoming more involved, please contact Daniel
Jones (Chair) or Morag Ritchie (Secretary) for more information.
New Sub group Structure
In an effort to make smooth progress with the various priorities of CEDAR there will be three subgroups created and Trustees and Members will fill these, so this is open to all. Again if you are interested please contact Daniel Jones or Morag Ritchie for more information.
The sub-groups will focus on, Hall Management, the smooth running of the hall, hall bookings and progressing work to complete a full Community Asset Transfer. Community Transport, focussing on delivering a transport scheme run by the community, plugging short comings in public transport services. And finally Community Well Being & Events, leading on activities such as the book fair and organising citizen advice sessions, the newsletter and securing funding for local groups like Easy Movers and Tea On A Tuesday.
Self Hiring of Crawford Village
Hall
Remember that Crawford Village Hall is open to private hire for parties, birthday celebrations etc. Please contact Daniel Jones or Daniel Rowley if you would like to hire the hall or use the online booking form on the website.

Book Fair
The Book Fair is a local event in Crawford Village Hall on a Saturday (monthly basis). Donated items are sold to members of our community at a low cost. There is also the opportunity to ‘swap’ your pre-loved items for something else, with tokens given out in lieu of money, which can then be used to purchase something else. The items that are available include books, CDs, DVDs, jigsaws, PC Games and Board Games. There’s something for everypne and refreshments are available. All are welcome, so please come along!
For Christmas, on 13th December there will be a special visit from an important guest who will read some stories to us! Don’t miss it!

Invites will be delivered soon to all those already in school but if you have a child who is due to start school next August we won’t have their details. Please contact Fiona Greenhorn on 07958113821 who will arrange their invites too. This party is only possible with the support from CEDAR and the MicroGrant received to keep this annual event going!
All children should be accompanied by an adult. There will be snacks, juice and a surprise visit from someone very special! Please let us know if your child has any allergies!
Highland Coos reach Crawford!
Highland Coo Sculptures are coming to Crawford Primary School, funded by the Parent Council’s successful bid to the Renewable Energy Fund. The
smaller of the two sculptures has already made a visit causing great delight but both will be open again to the community once they are installed.
Dates will follow asap we get details from the artist!
