🌿CEDAR Community Newsletter November 2025
Our First AGM!
It seems way too early, but our first AGM was held in Crawford Village Hall on the 15th September 2025!. Full details of discussions and decisions are on the website but a general summary is given below.
The meeting was well attended, not only by trustees and Office Bearers but
including some members and our local councillor Ralph Barker.
Our Vision and Goals were highlighted by our new Chairperson, Daniel Jones. These were published in the August Newsletter and were developed from the Community Action Plan which is on our website and copies are available in the Village Hall. Daniel also reported our progress to date. We have appointed Community Enterprise Scotland as our feasibility Advisor and work is now underway to explore long term use and development of our community assets ie Crawford Village Hall, with early inquiries being made about the NHS Clinic building to see if this could be our second Community Asset. Ideas from the original survey suggest a shop or Tearoom would be something to consider here.

We have now secured funding for Community Transport to support access to
services and events. The next action here is to send out a questionnaire to each resident to identify our specific needs and ideas regarding how Community Transport may work to best serve our whole community. Early ideas may include events, medical appointments etc. Funds for this are attached to sustainability and so we will be looking for an electric vehicle. More details will follow but please make sure you return your questionnaire so you get your say!

The meeting recognied that CEDAR has supported a number of activities and groups aimed at Health and Wellbeing (See August Newsletter and calendar at the end of this publication).
Communication has also been improved by the website and newsletter In order to fully understand our needs.
The Treasurer’s Report at the AGM explained that our total income so far has been £41,787.86 while our expenditure has been £8,275.09, the balance is therefore £33,512.77 to date. A full breakdown of monies, grants etc can be found on the website.
The Membership and Vacancies of CEDAR were discussed. Current Office Bearers were re-elected (details at end). As you know we welcomed a new
Chairperson recently – Daniel Jones – but we also have his previous
post to fill as Vice Chairperson and 2 Trustees to recruit the remits
for these are on the website. If you are interested in taking a more
active role, please contact Daniel Jones who will fill you in on what
is involved. Contact details are at the end of the Newsletter.
Obtaining WiFi provision for the hall is underway. BT will be the providers and negotiation is ongoing. This will mean remote access to meetings in order to include more members and should help deliver events more effectively.
Update
We now have WiFi in the Village hall!

This means we will be linked to the Outside World with plans to allow participation in meetings without having to be there physically and we will be looking to provide IT Awareness Courses in the near future!
Other News
We will soon be putting out a Community Transport survey in order to understand the specific needs of everyone in the community and purchase the right vehicle to meet these.

Possible uses might be for medical appointments, social trips.,
events etc. The grant supporting this venture is linked to sustainability
and so we will be looking for an electric vehicle. Make sure to respond
when it arrives so your views are heard and your needs met!
